Description: Building erected in 1808, was originally the North District School and used until 1926. Museum opened 1966. Original school - master's desk, compass and chain used in laying out original lots of the town in 1773. Narrative available in file.
Hours: Sun, May-Oct 2-4pm or by appt
Directions: 1/4 mile off Rte 118 from intersection of either the N. Dorchester Rd or the Town House Rd. 7 miles from Rte 25 in Rumney and from Rte 4 in Caanan.

Dorchester Community Church (aka The Town Church)

Description: Formerly the "South Meeting House" built in the 1820s on Thompson Hill and cut down and moved by oxen to the current location on the Town Common in the early 1880s. Dedicated 1883.
Hours: 3 services per year: Christmas Eve, Easter Sunday, Old Home Days Sunday and open for special events.
Directions: 1/4 mile off Rte 118 from intersection of either the N. Dorchester Rd or the Town House Rd. 7 miles from Rte 25 in Rumney and from Rte 4 in Caanan.
Programs Offered: Easter Sunday Service 10:30am

Description: Built in 1842 on site of the North Meeting House, which was destroyed by fire in 1839.

Programs Offered: town meeting and March election
Notes: In 1841 at a meeting held at the Wright Tavern (currently owned by Patricia Franz) the town voted "to raise what surplus money was necessary to build a Town House."
